The Reluctant Sage: Mirror Image

"It is only the minority of people who seek self-improvement or personal growth. This is because whatever one's self-criticisms, one secretly really believes that one's way of being is okay and probably the only correct one and all problems are caused by other people's selfishness, unfairness, and by the external world." ? ??- David R. Hawkins

When God holds up a mirror what do you see? Is your way "THE ONLY" way? Is the whole world wrong and out to get you? Could ?that insane coworker, friend or neighbor that has been on your case for no reason at all be a reflection of some part of yourself that is in need of examination? Maybe God is holding up a mirror so that you will see yourself (and God) reflected in others. There are good and bad qualities that make up each and everyone of us but we tend to think that we ourselves are more righteous than the person that is driving us crazy.?

Next time some outraged, seemingly crazy person goes on a rampage and the blame for their victimhood and martyrdom is pointed straight at you, take a good look at them, ?chances are they are in deep pain and in great need of your love and compassion. The last thing either of you need is for you to reflect their rage back onto them, that will only serve to magnify the pain and discomfort for both of you. Try being God's mirror and reflecting some of God's love onto the person in distress. Love truly heals all wounds and perhaps it will be a balm for your accusers soul.?

"You are to love each other as I have loved you.? ~John 13:34

Everybody needs a little tenderness Everybody needs a release From the cell they lock themselves in It's easier to walk away when you've When two people stand together That's how they heal inside

Try to understand

Let go of the past, let go of the fight Forgiving fills the world with light We were given a world so beautiful A deep ocean, a blue-blue sky I know we can make it a better place
