Business etiquette includes?having a high standard of ethics. In today?s world of instant?gratification, some business owners are impatient and unwilling to commit the time and financial investments that are required to grow their business. They may think copying someone?s work is their best bet. It?s hard to really determine why someone would be tempted to compromise their integrity.
Before you contemplate doing anything that may be inappropriate, please keep these things in mind:
- When someone has invested their time, energy, and money to create their business products and brand, it is wrong to diminish their investments by copying their work.
- Copyrights and trademarks exist for a reason and ignoring them could get you in legal trouble. I recently made the financial investment necessary to protect my business products and brand. So have many other small business owners.
- Cheating just isn?t worth it. It can really tarnish your professional reputation and once the damage is done, it?s very difficult to undo.
